WCPDF Conference

12th ANNUAL WCPDF TO BE HELD FROM 4 TO 5 JUNE 2025

The Western Cape Property Development Forum (WCPDF) will be holding its 12th Annual Conference on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 June 2025. Our venue will once again be the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

The theme of the WCPFD Conference 2025 is:

RECALIBRATING the development conversation

The national elections in June 2024 saw South Africa become a Government of National Unity (GNU). Conversations across the country now need to RECALIBRATE, and the WCPDF conference will interrogate how these are progressing across the Western Cape Property Development and Construction landscape.

Who are the new voices in this discussion and who still has a seat at the table of economic development in our industry? How do relationships between the Private and Public sector need to change? The bottom line is it can no longer be business as usual.

Our 2025 sessions will include

UNDERSTANDING WHO HAS “SKIN IN THE GAME”

Sustainability: from Infrastructure to Social Contract

THINKING CREATIVELY ABOUT FINANCING

THE ROLE OF CITY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS IN CREATING INVESTOR-FRIENDLY CITIES

PROJECT SHOWCASE: TAKING PRODUCT WESTERN CAPE TO THE WORLD

Be sure to check back soon as we develop our full programme of Speakers and Panelists.

More about the WCPDF annual conference

The WCPDF annual conference has increasingly become a major event on the South African property development and construction industry calendar. Recognised for its success in bringing together thought leaders from the public and private sector involved in fixed-capital investment, every year it stimulates robust discussion and debate that lead to collaborative solutions to grow our industry and economy.

Our conference delegates and session participants range from across the Built Environment, from large-scale and micro-developers, specialist consultants, contractors and industry service providers to members of the financial and legal fraternity.

We have seen consistent growth year-on-year with delegates attending from outside the Western Cape, as well as from among the public sector from across the province, other parts of South Africa and beyond our borders. This year we plan to exceed our record-breaking numbers of 400 from our 2024 event, to 500 delegates in 2025.

The event will once again take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from Wednesday 4 to Thursday 5 June 2024.

More about the WCPDF

The WCPDF is a registered non-profit organisation (246-760 NPO) founded in 2008 to create awareness and address the challenges that face the property development and construction industry. Its membership today reaches well into the thousands, and represents the full production line of private and public property projects and associated infrastructure provision. The WCPDF is also actively engaged in education and transformation of our industry.

With a voluntary Management Committee of 45 representing 14 industry associations as well as individual professionals involved in the day-to-day business of our industry, the WCPDF actively engages government to provide input and feedback on draft legislation and policy. While the industry is always impacted by national legislation, the most critical development issues tend to occur at regional and municipal levels, and this is where the WCPDF’s chief focus lies, our primary mandate being to create a vibrant economy for all Western Cape – and beyond that South African – stakeholders.
