The 13th ANNUAL WCPDF will BE HELD FROM
24 TO 25 JUNE 2026
The Western Cape Property Development Forum (WCPDF) will be holding its 13th Annual Conference on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June 2026. The theme of the conference is
It is time to look to the future and ask the important question: How do we plan and build our Future (City) Perfect?
Renowned urban activist and author Jane Jacobs defined “cities” as complex, dynamic ecosystems that thrived on diversity, especially through mixed-use development, density and bottom-up community planning. But are we there yet in planning our own future “ecosystems”, from metro to town, throughout the Western Cape, and beyond?
As the WCPDF, we look forward to having you in the room with us in 2026 as we all get on track to create our Future (City) Perfect.
Under the theme of “Future (City) Perfect, we will be exploring the following at our 2026 event:
Building a production pipeline for the Future (City) Perfect
Rebuilding our capacity to build future cities
Funding the cities of the future
The future of megacities in the Western Cape
The urban design-led future

More about the WCPDF annual conference
The WCPDF annual conference has become a major event on the South African property development and construction industry calendar. Recognised for its success in bringing together thought leaders from the public and private sector involved in fixed-capital investment, every year it stimulates robust discussion and debate that lead to collaborative solutions to grow our industry and economy. For our delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers, it is also recognised as a premium event for networking and engagement. Delegates and session participants range from across the public and private sector of the Built Environment, from large-scale and micro-developers, specialist consultants, contractors and industry service providers to members of the financial and legal fraternity, and key government decisionmakers.
We have seen consistent growth year-on-year with delegates attending: from outside the Western Cape; from the public sector across the province; from other parts of South Africa and beyond our borders. This year we plan to exceed our record-breaking numbers of 479 from our 2025 event, to 500+ delegates in 2026.

More about the WCPDF
The WCPDF is a registered non-profit organisation (246-760 NPO) founded in 2008 to create awareness and address the challenges that face the property development and construction industry. Its membership today reaches well into the thousands, and represents the full production line of private and public property projects and associated infrastructure provision. The WCPDF is also actively engaged in education and transformation of our industry.
With a voluntary Management Committee of 43 representing 14 industry associations as well as individual professionals involved in the day-to-day business of our industry, the WCPDF actively engages government to provide input and feedback on draft legislation and policy. While the industry is always impacted by national legislation, the most critical development issues tend to occur at regional and municipal levels, and this is where the WCPDF’s chief focus lies. Our primary mandate is to create a vibrant economy for all stakeholders in the Western Cape and, beyond that, South Africa.
